Saltwater Fly Fishing – Texas Coast

Explore the wild and scenic Texas Coastal Bend, fly rod in hand. We sight-cast primarily for Redfish, with shots at Black Drum, Speckled Trout, Sheepshead, and the occasional bonus species. It’s important to note that even “easy” days in saltwater require skill in spotting, casting, and presenting the fly, so every fish is an earned one! I run a Black Duck Mantis poling skiff that is designed to run and pole extremely shallow. Most days, we look for fish in beautiful settings where there’s not enough water to hide them. Typical launches are within 30 minutes of Rockport, Texas, but Port O’Connor and other points further afield are possible with enough notice. E-mail or call to get a report and plan your trip!

Freshwater Fly Fishing – Texas Rivers

Central Texas is home to some truly hidden aquatic gems. The San Marcos and Lower Colorado Rivers alone comprise 80+ miles of fishable water, and the Llano, Devils, and other West Texas rivers add immensely to that total. Largemouth Bass, Guadalupe Bass, Rio Grande Cichlids, Gar, Carp, and Sunfish are readily accessible and provide a great reason to spend a day learning about our waterways and the ecosystems they support. The San Marcos and Lower Colorado are great year-round, while our West Texas rivers are typically more seasonal in nature. E-mail or call to get the latest fishing reports for each watershed and plan your trip around the best available water!
